More than 500,000 songs from artists such as “Leona Lewis” and “Take That” are available on the We7.com to people prepared to listen to short adverts.

All tracks can be listened to immediately online, though some can be downloaded to an MP3 player with the audio advert attached. Once someone owned a track from 28 days, one will be entitled to download an ad-free version of it, though one can only download 20 ad-free tracks per month. Anyone can download more just paying 70p per track.

Rather than discouraging listeners from sharing music, We7.com wants it members to share tracks because anyone who hears them will be exposed to the advertising.

The site recently struck a deal with Song BMG.
