Softbank To Sell Apple\'s iPhone in JapanSoftbank Corp. said on Wednesday it has won the right to sell Apple’s most successful product ever, iPhone in Japan later this year. Surprisingly, Apple choose Softbank, the third largest mobile communications carrier in Japan. Everyone was expecting, Apple might be interested to go for a deal with NTT DoCoMo, No 1 carrier in Japan.

Mobile operators Vodafone Group PLC and Telecom Italia SpA said earlier this month they will distribute the iPhone in Italy, the first time Apple choose multiple carriers to launch their product iPhone in one country. That means, NTT DoCoMo still have a change to share the huge Japanese market, where they might face stiff competition with RIM’s Blackberry. Recently RIM has released a new model of BlackBerry, named BlackBerry Bold, might compete the market for high-end professional users.
