Pakistan cricket board refused to arrange some warm-ups matches requested by Hong Kong. Earlier Hong Kong requested to for some warm-up matches in Lahore as part of their preparation for the tournament.
All teams agreed to come on 21st June, 2008. But Hong Kong wanted to come 10 days earlier to warm up when PCB would be in the final stage of preparation of the tournament. PCB’s directory of operation denied an earlier report that security reasons were behind the scrapping and said “Hong Kong were in Pakistan a month ago on a development tour so the question of security is a non-starter.”
Hong Kong will face the host Pakistan in their opening game in Karachi on June 24.
