in Acquisition, Google

When the news came that Google is about to acquire Video game maker Valve Software, everyone thought that Google would be most interested in the company is its Steam Powered technology, a multipurpose online hub with throngs of users. According to Valve, Steam had 15 million account holders and during peak hours, online activity crests at about 1.2 million users every day.

But news became a pure rumour when Kotaku, a game website, published following news Valve Kills Google Buy-Out Rumor. They said:

While the idea seems crazy at first blush Valve’s Doug Lombardi has said they’re willing to be bought. So we checked in with Lombardi himself this morning and he put our minds at ease, telling us it is purely a rumor, a bit of fiction.

Okay, better luck next time!
