Cuil.com shows irrelevant search results
When Cuil.com was launched in July, 2008 people was talking highly about it and even thinking it would be a threat of Google. I had doubt from beginning. It really got dream start - everyone was talking about it … all the forums, blogs, press release sites were full of praising about it. But where it is now?
After July, today I visited cuil.com and searched my name - jinnat ul hasan. In the first page, it showed my 15 results. According to Cuil.com, my name and my site description was in every urls it provided. So I started visiting every entries it showed. But surprisingly, 6 results out of 11 results, there was no mention of my name or any kind of my site description. But Cuil.com description clearly shows the opposite.
I’m not sure how Cuil.com’s search algorithm works, but definitely it’s search result is full of confusion and directionless.
However, after this result I searched Cuil.com’s current situation and found that it’s founder Louis Monier quits just after 1 month of it’s launch and lost it’s initial traffic very fast.
