Apple becomes 2nd in Smartphone Business
In just one and half year, Apple has become the 2nd largest Smartphone provider in the world putting Canadian Smartphone gaint Research in Motion (RIM). Nokia is far ahead from both of them with a hefty lead. Apple’s 17.3% share is just barely beating out RIM’s 15.2%, and of course is nowhere near Nokia’s 38.9%. But last year Nokia has seen its share drop more than 12% from last year’s 51.4%, though the Symbian maker is still holding strong with more than double Apple’s share.
RIM is about to release their latest touchscreen smartphone Blackberry Storm in United Kingdom this week. Hopefully RIM can fight back against Apple’s iPhone.
