Google Chrome: Happy Birthday to You

in Google, Google Chrome

Just before one year, whatever you used to think about any browser, Google Chrome didn’t come with any of those. Still Chrome became my favourite and default browser. And yesterday was it’s 1st Birthday!

Google Chrome: Happy Birthday to You

You may recall the way Chrome was released. Google tired to release their browser with a buzz, using a comic stripe. But by accident or intensionally the comic stripe was leaked and it got huge publicity. Chrome is just a mirror of Google, simple but robust. It’s few excellent features is giving it lead over the other existing browsers.

Here some progress report of Google’s official Chrome birthday post:

  • 51 developer releases, 21 beta releases or updates, and 15 stable releases or updates
  • Over 20,600 bugs filed (4367 of them were duplicates, 3505 have been fixed, which leaves a whole lot left to go!)
  • 11 external committers and bug editors, 46 external code contributors
  • 50 Chrome Experiments
  • 26 posts on the Google Chrome blog
  • 12 Chrome Shorts, a collection of short films about Google Chrome
  • A sequel to the comic in Japanese

People like me who want to work fast, definitely Chrome is their first choice. It’s at least 150% times faster than it’s initial beta release. Chrome is in the first place of Browsers Benchmark testing V8 by far from other browsers. It scored 629 in my laptop while other scored following – Safari(432), Mozilla Firefox(83.8), Opera (56.6) and Internet Explorer (22.1).

Chrome is not fault free. It still has some bugs. Hopefully it will improve fast.

I think ie is the best for security and only it is the browser which supports EOT. Moreover who are using ie8, can be satisfied for right click searching, sharing, mailing, translating which are ready to use.
