Today, I came across a thread in Digital Point forum where a member is asking for suggestion. He has a blog on software and he is not getting enough pay for each click he is getting. He is asking if he can use forex keywords to raise his pay per click and make some extra money.
Hahahahaha…. Is it a joke!
You can’t just use different keywords than your website’s primary subject. Firstly, you are fooling yourself. If you are using forex keywords in software related website, how you going to optimize your website for software related keywords.
Secondly, I believe it’s against Google Adsense TOS. You are trying to fool Google, the big G! No man, one day you will find your Adsense account banned.
Thirdly, by any change, if you have any visitors coming for software related keywords, they won’t click those ads as they are only interested in software, not in forex. Again if any visitor came searching forex keywords, they won’t stay your website long as they find your website is only for software. So it’s not going to work at all.
So What To Do To Make More Money with My Niche?
I agree software is not a high paying niche, but you can easily find high paying niche in software. I love the Google Keyword Tool to compare Cost-Per-Click(CPC) between different keywords. You can use this tool to find better niche in the same subject.

So, if you are targeting just ‘software’ or ‘free software’ or ‘free software download’, you may or may not reach at first page of Google. Even you reach, you may get thousands of visitors, but you won’t get enough money. As they are not highly competitive and advertisers are not paying Google top money for CPC.
Instead, you can target other keywords phrase from the above chart. They are highly competitive – and any blog with those niche will more money for each click. The key to success in blogging starts from choosing the right niche. Unless you find a subject that suits both your interest and markets’ demand, it’s would be a fail project.
