WordPress acquired spell checker ‘After the Deadline’

WordPress has acquired spell checker After the Deadline, according to a post by Automattic founder Matt Mullenweg, mother company of WordPress. Currently 7.5 million free blogs hosted on WordPress.com. Today all of them got the new spell checker to play with.

According to Matt, AtD is “so much better than other checkers I’d used,”. AtD will check spelling, grammar and style of writing while typing and show errors using different colours; red for spelling, green for grammar and blue for style. To learn more about After the Deadline and WordPress.com’s new spell checker, watch this demo:

However, self-hosted WordPress bloggers need to install AtD as plugins from here.

In recent times, WordPress has acquired some small startups; like PollDaddy, IntenseDebate and Gravatar.
