Twitter has been suffering a lot; downtime and hacked account – everything is just becoming Twitter’s headache. Now Twitter has taken initiative to prevent users from using easy to hack passwords.
They have hard-coded a list of 370 passwords on Signup page and forcing new users from using easy to guess passwords like “abc123″, “welcome”, “passwords” etc. Want to find out the list, open Twitter’s signup page and search “twttr.BANNED_PASSWORDS”. You will find an arrow of passwords banned from Twitter.
According to TechCrunch, This isn’t a security issue, of course, and in fact it’s helpful to distribute the list so you can check if your favorite password that you use for other services might not be as fail-proof as you’d like to think.
However, you can also find the list from here.
Security Tips
Try to use Strong Password Generator, it generates passwords with alphabets, numbers and symbols. It also gives you easy phrase to remember the password.
