At Last … Microsoft Office 14 goes online

In an interview, Microsoft Business Division President Stephen Elop said that the browser-based editing capabilities are being developed in conjunction with the next version of Office, known as Office 14. Microsoft won’t say when that version will arrive, but Elop said that a technology preview of the browser-based products will come later this year and that a beta version will be released in 2009.

Microsoft will offer browser-based Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in two ways. For consumers, they will be offered via Microsoft’s Office Live Web site, while businesses will be able to offer browser-based Office capabilities through Microsoft’s SharePoint Server product.

The company has been pushed into this arena by Google, which has been offering its free Google Apps programs for some time. In competing with Google, Microsoft is touting the ability to use Microsoft’s familiar user interface, as well as the fact that all of the document’s characteristics are preserved.

My way to “Pass with Distinction” in MSc in “Information Systems Development”

Almost 3 years ago, I landed to United Kingdom with great hope - but didn’t took long to vanish all my dream. However, I will talk about that later - some other time - lets talk about today’s story.

Today, I’ve received my official document from London Metropolitan University, comfirming that I’m rewarded with “Pass with Distinction” in my MSc in Information Systems Development (ISD). Great News!

I just want to thank some people directly involved with my achievement for last three years. Firstly, my parents, they always said, no matter whatever you have in your life, you need to study and reach your destination - don’t worry about money, don’t worry about us - just study. Thanks to my mother, father, brother, Jillur Hasan (last year of his MBBS), sister Ismat Ara Jahan(3rd year of her BDS - Bachelor in Dental Surgery).

Google’s bid on Begun was reportedly $140 million.

FAS, the Russian anti-monopoly watch dog, was stepped up its efforts ever since Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister, declared that the service be more active. As FAS ratchets up its involvement in Russian commerce it could very well become one of the more powerful agencies in the country.
